The Origins
Viphalay Laos and Thai Restaurant is a small, family owned restaurant. Owned and operated by the Mounma family. We created Viphalay in order to express the passion and pride we have for our food, our culture, and our traditions.
The Concept
The conceptual design and idea behind the restaurant is one of a warm, tightly knit family and community atmosphere. A place where you can experience Laos life and culture beyond the food and take a journey through our history, and experiences. The design is a blend of traditional and modern Lao and Thai architechture, art and culture.
Closely tied to the community, Alberta Lao Association and Alberta Lao Buddhist Association, we will be hosting a series of events, art showcases, performances, and ceremonies through out the year.
